The Irish Web Awards 2008

focal.ie won "Best Irish Language Website" at the Irish Web Awards, 25 October 2008.

The Language Label 2007

The FIONTAR research project, www.focal.ie, was presented with the European Award for Languages, The Language Label, on Wednesday 26 September. Dr. Caoilfhionn Nic Pháidín, Project Director, accepted the award on behalf of Fiontar.

The Language Label is run simultaneously in over 20 European countries to mark the European Day of Languages. It recognises creative and innovative ways to improve the quality of language teaching and learning. The winners were selected on the basis of excellence, innovation and their ability to serve as a model for others.
